Story Tools ​

UI Labs has a few tools that help you while visualizing your stories.

Measure Tool ​

You can use the Measure Tool to measure the size of a specific section.

When this is active, you can click and drag the mouse to cover an area.

  • If you hold Alt with this active, you will block any input on the story
    so you can use this tool without interacting with your components.

Select Elements ​

You can use the Select Elements Tool to select specific elements.

When this is active, you can hover over elements and click them to select them.

  • If you hold Shift while clicking, you can select deeper elements that
    are under the selected element.

  • If you hold Alt with this active, you will block any input on the story
    so you can select elements without interacting with your components.

Show Outlines ​

You can active the Show Outlines Tool to show the outlines of hidden elements.

An outline will be drawn around an element when this is satisfied:

  • BackgroundTransparency is more than 0.95
  • AbsoluteSize is more than 2 on the X and Y axis
  • The component is does not cover the entire area of the parent component

Mouse Rules ​

You can active the Mouse Rules Tool to show where the mouse is on your story.

This becomes specially useful when you move your story around
as the mouse will be calculated on the position of the story.
